In a hotly contested championship Matt Coulson was crowned the Douglas Shire Motor Sport Association 2013 Champion after finishing on 135 points, just one point clear of Bruce Perry. Matt became the first driver in the clubs history to make it back-to-back titles.
Bob Errey was third in the championship on 105 points followed closely by Dave Coulson, 103 points and a career best result for Greg Skyring in fifth place on 87 points.
The junior motorkhana championship was also a very closely fought affair with Tayla North 119 points just edging out Cassidy Pumpa on 118 points and Krystal Secker 111 points.
Kara North won the Ladies class on 89 points ahead of Michelle Van Dyk and Krista O’Dell.
Anthony Baldwin was unlucky not to win the over 2 L class after finishing ahead of Bob Errey, but a rule change at the beginning of the year meant that each driver had to drop their worst round. This meant a loss of ten points to Baldy sliding him into second place behind Bob while Carl Johanson was third.
A good haul of points from the last round of competition saw Josh Coulson sneak into first spot in the junior khanacross championship. Josh finished on 88 points narrowly beating Kara North on 87 points. Christopher Dwyer was third on 51 points.
Dale Knight had a strong finish to the season winning the 1600 to 2 L class
Carl Johanson was awarded a special trophy for hitting the most witches’ hats through out the year.
